Each edition is a fixed measurement of one month. We do not quietly edit a published edition. An edition is restated for one of two reasons, and either way the restatement is marked on the edition itself, with the figures as first published beside the figures now. The first is a change to the vendor registry: adding a vendor moves the scores below it even when nothing about AI has changed, so the registry effect is reported separately from the real change. The second is a correction to the measurement — if we find that we measured something wrongly, we say so on the page, in plain words, rather than letting the number quietly improve. The stored answers themselves are never edited and nothing is ever deleted.

Editions publish at namedindex.com/au/care-software/<month> and that address does not change. If you cite a ranking, cite the edition URL rather than this page — this one will keep moving as new editions land.

Citing an edition

You are welcome to quote your position, and you do not need our permission. Two requests, both in your interest as much as ours: name the edition, because a figure without a month is not checkable; and link to it, so a reader can see the method that produced the number. Everything needed to argue with a figure is on the page it appears on.

If a figure looks wrong, it may be. Write to corrections@namedindex.com with the edition and the vendor and we will re-check it against the stored answers.
