How often each tracked Australian care-sector software vendor is named when buyers ask AI systems for recommendations. Questions cover NDIS, aged care and allied health.
Disclosure. We sell AI-visibility services. Position in this index cannot be purchased, and is never altered for a client. Full disclosure and the client list.
Two numbers per vendor. Named in is the share of answers that mentioned them at all. The score combines that with where they appeared, and position is rank among the vendors tracked on this page — so adding a vendor to the index moves the score of everyone below them while named in stays exactly where it was. When a score changes and named in does not, the index grew or other vendors moved; nothing changed about how often AI named this one.
The overall table mixes three markets. A specialist can look mid-table across all of them and lead its own. Read the sector you sell into.

Rank within each cell, out of the vendors AI named when Australian buyers asked about that service. A blank is not a low score — it is a vendor the engines never named on those questions. A question can ask about more than one service, and a whole-of-market question (“what software do NDIS providers use in Australia”) asks about none, so the cells do not add up to the edition.

This grid reports one edition. Movement inside a cell is not shown: a cell is scored over the questions that ask about that service, and comparing a cell across editions means comparing it over the questions both editions asked. That is a different measurement from the one above and it is not published here.
The domains AI systems drew on most while answering these questions. A source appearing here is not an endorsement of it, and several are not vendors at all — comparison articles, directories and community threads carry considerable weight in this category.

384 questions, put to every engine this edition reports. Not every question produces an answer on every engine: Google AI Overviews answered 298. A question with no answer is recorded as no surface, never as a score of zero. By sector: NDIS 143, Aged care 131, Allied health 110. Every question is Australian-scoped. The set is fixed for the edition — changing it would make this one incomparable with the next.
| Question type | Count | Share |
|---|---|---|
| conversational | 192 | 50% |
| Broad category | 80 | 21% |
| Comparison and alternatives | 35 | 9% |
| Situational (size, stage, setting) | 30 | 8% |
| Compliance and regulation | 27 | 7% |
| Price | 20 | 5% |
45 of these 384 name a vendor in the question — "alternatives to X", "X vs Y". Those are real buyer queries, but a vendor named in the question is named back almost every time, and only a handful of vendors get asked about that way. They were asked and their answers are kept; the scores on this page are computed without them.
One example of each:
| best NDIS software in Australia |
| compare NDIS software options in Australia |
| what software do NDIS providers need for the new claims system in Australia |
| NDIS software for a provider with 20 support workers in Australia |
| cheapest NDIS practice management software in Australia |
| we run a small NDIS business in Australia and we're trying to work out which software to go with, what would you suggest |
Half the set is phrased as a search query and half the way a person actually types — the same buying intents, asked both ways, so the difference between them can be measured rather than assumed. It is measurable: asked conversationally, these systems name about a quarter fewer vendors.
Disclosure. We sell AI-visibility services. Position in this index cannot be purchased, and is never altered for a client. Current and former clients appearing in this edition are listed in the methodology section. We do not guarantee placement in any AI system's answers; no published research demonstrates that any technique reliably produces one.
Clients appearing in this edition: none this edition.

| Runs per question | 3 per engine |
| Runs | 4,800 asked · 4,043 answered · 3,595 scored.A question can be asked and get no answer — Google renders no AI Overview for many queries, which is recorded as no surface rather than as a score of zero. Questions naming a vendor are asked and stored but excluded from the scores. |
| Vendors tracked | 108 — the exact number covered, no more |
| Scan date | 2026-08-13 to 2026-08-14 |
| Score | mean(presence x prominence) x 100, averaged over
question-and-engine cells rather than runs. Presence is how often a vendor is named. Prominence
weights position — but position among the vendors this index tracks, not position in
the answer: a vendor named after two products we do not track still counts as first
(1st = 1.00, 2nd = 0.80, 3rd = 0.65, 4th = 0.55, 5th = 0.45, 6th+ = 0.35). Adding a vendor to the
registry therefore moves the scores below it even when nothing about AI has changed, so every
edition is rescored against the current registry before any month-over-month figure is published. |
| Answer stability | When an AI system named a vendor at all, it named them again on every repeat of the same question 35% of the time. AI answers vary between identical queries, so visibility is a probability rather than a fixed position; we publish that rather than hide it. |
| Deflection rate | 0.0% of answers named no tracked vendor but did name a software review directory — Capterra, G2, GetApp, NDIS Growth, Provider Institute, SafetyCulture, Software Advice. Not once in this edition. No answer sent a buyer to a directory in place of a product. |
The instrument is fixed for an edition — the models, the engines and the question set. Changing any of them changes which vendors get named, so a month-over-month figure computed across a change would be measuring this index rather than the market. That is why each is recorded above, and why a question set only ever grows.
This measures how often each vendor is named by AI systems. It is not an assessment of product quality, suitability or compliance, and should not be read as one. API-based engines are not identical to their consumer apps; results may differ from what a buyer sees in the app. Raw outputs are retained for three years. Corrections: publish a request and we will amend and note it in the next edition.
